Leighton dog missing

A Leighton family are desperately hoping LBO readers may help reunite them with their lost dog.

Max, an eight-year-old collie/German shepherd cross, went missing at about 10.30pm on Wednesday while being exercised by owner Glyn Smith of Willowbank Walk.

Mr Smith said he was walking Max alongside Clipstone Brook near his home when he disappeared.

He said: "We went as far as the bridge over the weir, it's a walk we do every day, but this time when he got over the bridge he dropped his ball and ran off along the bank.

"I think he had probably seen a duck or something. I called to him, but he never returned and I am 90 per cent sure that he ended up in the water.

"Since his disappearance, I have searched the brook downstream, but as the muddy water has been so high, progress has been slow.

"Max may have drowned, but he also may have been able to get himself out and is now being cared for by someone."

Max is tagged and microchipped and was wearing a purple and link collar, he is also registered at wwww.doglost.co.uk (ref 22164).

If you have taken Max in or know his whereabouts, email the LBO on news@lbobserver.co.uk
