A man was punched to the ground and knocked unconscious during a “vicious” mugging in Linslade, which saw three attackers take off with his belongings.

Police are now searching for the three male suspects of the street robbery in Mentmore Road, just after midnight on Thursday.

The 40-year-old victim was approached by three men who assaulted him by punching him to the floor and then kicking him unconscious.

It happened while the victim was on his way to work. They stole the victim’s mobile phone and wallet.

The three men are all described as being white, in their mid to late 20s and wearing hooded tops.

A member of the public took him to a nearby petrol station and called the emergency services before he was taken to hospital for treatment to cuts and bruising to his face.

Det Con Joanna Bosson is keen to hear from anyone who was in Mentmore Road on the night of the attack or may have seen the three suspects either before or after the robbery.

Det Con Bosson said: “This was a vicious and upsetting experience for the victim and it is vital that we find the people responsible as quickly as possible and stop them from committing any further offences.

“We are particularly keen to speak with the good Samaritan who assisted the victim after the attack as this man may hold some valuable information about what happened.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who was in the Mentmore Road area at the time of the robbery or anyone else who may have information – however small or insignificant they think it is – that could help us.

“Don’t dismiss your information as unimportant – even tiny details which don’t seem relevant now might become useful later on in the investigation.”

Beds Police are now appealing for witnesses following the street robbery.
