Idle work for sensational singer Dale
Dale Lee performed twice at the Olympics closing ceremony
An aspiring singer from Leighton wowed the Olympic crowds as he performed alongside legendary British comedian Eric Idle at the closing ceremony on Sunday night.
Dale Lee, 21, of St Mary’s Way, was overwhelmed to be given the opportunity at London 2012 to perform not once, but twice on the worldwide stage.
Dale said: “It was a great experience because when you are there standing at the door waiting to go out and perform to a billion people, it is pretty heart in your mouth kind of stuff.”
As well as performing as a ‘Welsh woman’ during Eric Idle’s Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life, he sang as part of the London Welsh Male Voice Choir.
The group collaborated with the London Welsh Rugby Club Choir to sing the Olympic Anthem while the Olympic flag was lowered by members of the armed forces.
