In the dark about lights failure

Christmas Lights not working in Leighton Town Centre

Christmas Lights not working in Leighton Town Centre

NIGHT-TIME visitors have been left with a dim view of Leighton town centre with failed street lighting leaving the area in darkness for approaching two months.

The gloomy situation – which brings back memories of the Christmas lights failure fiasco last December – has existed since the end of February when energy company EDF identified an issue with the electricity supply.

At that time they had hoped to restore services “shortly”, but many weeks later the High Street is still shrouded in darkness.

On Saturday night, visitors to the town’s pubs and restaurants were greeted with a dark High Street at midnight and several sources have told the LBO this has been the situation for many weeks.
