Jobs: Opportunities in recruitment industry ‘set to grow’
A new careers service has been launched this week
PEOPLE looking for a job should consider the recruitment industry for opportunities – says the boss of a jobs agency business.
The recruitment industry is valued at an estimated £25billion and employs more than 100,000 people, according to reports in the national press, and this is expected to grow in the coming years.
Nick Peacock, managing director of Ascendant Recruitment, said: “As the UK begins to see encouraging signs of growth here and there, recruitment agencies will have a need to expand their teams so I think we will see an uptake in new recruiters in the coming months. Recruitment isn’t always an obvious choice for applicants. The common perception is that a recruitment agency is there to get you a job, but why shouldn’t it be a job in the agency itself?”
Mr Peacock, whose company is based in Midsummer Boulevard, Milton Keynes, added: “As this demand grows, so too will our team. In fact we’re currently looking to bring in two recruitment consultants – a significant investment for a small team!”
