Visitors to Leighton Buzzard Railway on Sunday were surprised to see what looked like a return visit of Hollywood superstar John Travolta, whose unannounced train ride in June generated headlines around the world.
Closer inspection, however, showed that this was a lookalike called Ollie, impersonating the great man for the benefit of a TV crew shooting material for a future documentary.
Railway spokesman Mervyn Leah said: “Three months on, it’s amazing what an impression the Travolta visit is still making.
“It is what attracted the TV people to come and see us, and the spoof dance routine on the platform was entirely their idea.”
> Passenger trains are running on the Leighton Buzzard Railway on every Sunday in October, plus half-term (Wednesday, October 30).
