Clarence Road Post Office, in Leighton is set to close for refurbishment as it is transformed into a ‘local’ style branch with longer opening hours.
The branch will shut on Saturday, September 6 at 12.30pm for the revamp and is due to reopen on Friday, September 19 at 1pm.
Enhanced Post Office services will be available from branch which will then be open Monday - Friday (6am – 5.30pm); Saturday (6am – 12.30pm) and Sunday (6am – 10am). This is an extra 22 hours a week, including Sunday morning and earlier opening and later closing.
Kevin Shepherd, area manager said: “We know how important Post Office services are to residents in Leighton Buzzard and we are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the community in Clarence Road will be popular.
“The modernisation is part of a major Government investment programme that is enabling us to continue investing in the Post Office network and to map out a bold growth strategy to the end of the decade.”
