LB Connect make awards final

Members of LB Connect, the business networking group launched by South West Beds MP Andrew Selous just 18 months ago, are cock-a-hoop at being confirmed as finalists in a prestigious awards competition.

The Federation of Small Businesses has announced that the Leighton Buzzard-based group has been nominated as one of the top networking groups in Bedfordshire, beating stiff competition from other organisations in the area.

LB Connect will learn whether it will carry off the top prize at a glittering awards ceremony at The Mansion House, Old Warden Park in Bedfordshire next month.

“We are delighted that such a young networking group has already made such a great impression with the judges,” says LB Connect chairman, Bob Chandler. “It comes at a time when we are planning our second major Business Expo in Leighton Buzzard, which will be held at Cedars School Leisure Centre on September 26.”

Well over £350,000 of business has been generated through direct member referrals at LB Connect since it was launched, a figure that is growing daily. The group has also made significant donations to local charities including Buzzer Buses (Dial A Ride) and Leighton Woodcraft Folk and is currently busy raising funds for Leighton Linslade Homeless.
