Leighton Buzzard’s Billington Road was plunged into darkness on Friday leaving 800 people without electricity.
At 11am on Friday morning there was an interruption to power supplies because a high voltage underground electricity cable was damaged by a third party.
The unexpected power shortage meant that McDonald’s was forced to close for over four hours until supplies were restored at around 3.20pm.
A UK Power Networks spokesman said: “Engineers worked as quickly and as safely as possible though the morning to restore supplies.
“Initial repairs meant some customers had power within the hour with the final customers having supplies at 2.45pm on Friday.
“We understand how difficult it is to be without power and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
