Line up and wave at the camera!
BUSINESSES in Leighton’s High Street met at the Market Cross on Thursday to take part in a fun Mexican Wave for a Workout and Work Day initiative by The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
The wave was about raising awareness into the importance of short breaks during the working day to aid health, well-being and working output of employees. St Judes physiotherapy clinic and I Love Leighton Buzzard teamed up to stage the event.
About 50 people from High Street shops and businesses took part in the national event which would have seen waves happening up and down the country.
St Judes chartered physiotherapist and practice principal Moira D’Arcy said: “Movement breaks from work, so that staff are not troubled by the aches and pains that come on as the result of being in one position for too long, are very important.
This seemed like a fun way of making a very memorable movement break.
I Love Leighton Buzzard Managing Director Vince Garvin said: “We were pleased with the turn out. It’s something we should all put into practice – to look after our bodies and minds.”
