Linslade’s Take Me Out contestant reveals all
A Linslade hunk who scored a date after appearing in gold hotpants on ITV’s popular dating show says one of his goals this year is to find romance.
Matt Dunford, of Bideford Green, was spotted by producers to appear in the latest series of Take Me Out after he placed in the top ten at the World Fitness Model championship in Miami.
The 28-year-old fitness model and personal trainer in London said: “We filmed the show in December just before Christmas which was not ideal as I was enjoying my food and social life more than usual so wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to get in gong man/gold hotpants physical condition.”
But the former Cedars student didn’t disappoint and quickly won over the heart of one of host Paddy McGuinness’ girls, Charlotte.
Although there may be some women pleased to find that Matt is still single, after failing to hit it off with Charlotte on the Isle of Fernand as he admits there was no chemistry between them.
Matt said: “The date was really pleasant and because of the beautiful surrounding I think both Charlotte and I got caught up in the moment and thought there might have been some chemistry.
“But after spending more time with each other we realised there wasn’t, plus Charlotte lives three hours or so away in Bolton, so realistically there would have had to have been a serious attraction for it to have worked. Charlotte was a lovely girl though, very kind and polite.”
And even though he didn’t have any luck with his lady, Matt said if he could sum up his Take Me Out experience in three words he would say “scary, exciting and unique”, but is now looking to the future. As well as competing at world bodybuilding and fitness modelling championships in Copenhagen in April, Matt will also be one of the judges for the Miami pro championships closer to home in St Albans.
He said: “The whole show was a unique experience that if I hadn’t taken I know I would have regretted it.”
