Looking ahead to the canal festival 2013

Questions have been raised over whether a hugely popular event in Leighton Buzzard’s calendar should continue in its current format.

The Linslade Canal Festival celebrated its 10 year anniversary this summer and the success of the annual event was obvious as it saw a record number of 9,000 people attend.

At a meeting of Leighton-Linslade Town Council’s events sub-committee last week, councillors debated whether the event should reduce in size in order to make it more manageable for current events staff.
