Man attacked in Leighton street

Police call for witnesses to attack earlier this morning

A MAN is seriously hurt in hospital after being attacked in a Leighton street earlier today (Monday).

The victim was believed to have been changing a flat tyre on his builder's van in Hockliffe Road, near the junction of George Street, when he was assaulted at about 7am.

The man was taken to Milton Keynes Hospital by a member of public who was passing by at the time. He is believed to be suffering from a serious injury but police would not reveal the extent of his wounds.

Witnesses reported his vehicle had a flat tyre and he had possibly been injured due to his blood stained clothing.

Officers have been investigating the circumstances surrounding the attack and the area is cordoned off.
