Missing TV cat is back home

Oscar has now been reunited with his owner, Caroline.

A pet owner who appealed for help after her ‘anti-social’ cat known for terrorising the neighbourhood went AWOL has been reunited with her feline friend after being spotted 34 miles away!

After going missing almost three weeks ago, Oscar, of Wingrave, a five-and-a-half year old Turkish Van cat, is now back where he belongs with owner Caroline Hughes, 36, who suspects he travelled to Northampton in a delivery van.

Intent on terrorising a new neighbourhood, Oscar took shelter in other cats’ homes which didn’t impress the Northampton cats or their owners, so they made sure they caught him and a woman took him to the vets.

Caroline said: “The rest is history and thankfully, her actions meant he was home safe before the fireworks really began. I am super-happy to have him back. I never ever gave up but I was definitely starting to losing faith. Life just wasn’t the same without him.”

In 2010 Oscar appeared in a Ikea TV advert, which featured 100 cats roaming around a store in Wembley.

But Oscar soon got a bad reputation in the village after police were called about his behaviour, so now has to have an owner-imposed curfew.

One of Caroline’s neighbours has also had to install a special micro-chipped cat flap which only allows access to his pets.

“Because of his ‘bad boy’ antics, I hoped, if he was still OK, he would stay true to form and make himself known at a house where cats already lived and where someone would know what to do, rather than get angry with him.

“It seems ironic now that it was his notorious bad behaviour from the past that brought him back to me.”
