Motorcycle show

editorial image

The Leighton Buzzard Railway had their Sand and Motorcycle Day in Pages Park on Sunday.

It was very well attended with more than 230 motorcycles arriving. The ‘Kustom Kings’ jazz band played to an appreciative audience and people could see from the very old to the ultra modern motorcycles on display.

The railway ran a diesel loco day with petrol, diesel and electric locos pulling trains from the world famous historic collection the railway owns.

Pictured are the P&P Panther model 100, of the very type Garsides purchased for their maintenance engineers to ride about the sand pits on. The prize for ‘best bike’ was awarded by Peter Lathwell, (the son of George Lathwell who rode another P&M) and the retired Chief Loco Engineer.
