Old and young share experiences

YEAR 8 pupils from Gilbert Inglefield Middle School went along to The Willows sheltered housing scheme off Steppingstone Place, Leighton, to help residents celebrate national Older Peoples' Day.

The youngsters had tea with the old folk and shared stories about their lives and childhood.

Scheme manager, Janice Barnard, said: “The children really enjoyed hearing about what life was like when the residents were young.

“It was very successful and we’ll certainly be doing it again.”
