Paedophile offered sex coaching
A LINSLADE paedophile who acted as an online "incest coach" to fathers who wanted to sexually abuse their own young daughters has been told he is likely to remain behind bars for a very long time.
After John Stubbs of Old Road was convicted by a jury of four charges of arranging or facilitating the commission of child sex offences, Judge Barbara Mensah said: "I have in mind a sentence of many years in prison and if I make a finding that he is dangerous it will be an indefinite sentence."
During his two-day trial at Luton Crown Court, which began last Wednesday, Beverley Cripps, prosecuting told the jury: "What this man was doing over the internet was acting as a coach and adviser to those who were, or said they were abusing, their own children."
The court heard how police swooped on Stubbs' home in December last year and found 15,000 child abuse images and videos as well as chat-logs of "graphic and disturbing conversations."
At the time of the raid he was out of prison and on licence for previous child pornography offences.
Officers discovered that 38-year-old Stubbs had indulged in vile conversations on Google Hello with a father in either the USA or Canada and another in the West Midlands about how they could abuse their daughters.
Detective Constable Ian Henly told the court Stubbs had communicated with a man called JT777999. The US authorities had been given his details.
The other man used the name IanUK1964 and was based in Bilston, Wolverhampton. He had two daughters aged 20 and 13.
In a conversation with JT, Stubbs talked about the father commiting a sex act on his six-year-old daughter.
At one point he asked him "Has she seen handcuffs?"
He advised JT to show her pornographic pictures and tell the girl they were only for them to look at. In one extract JT says: "You have been a good coach."
Stubbs is also said to have offered to fly over to JT's home to have sex with the little girl.
He advised that giving the youngster a sleeping pill before having sex with her should only be the last option.
In a conversation with the man in Bilston, Stubbs and the father talked about abusing his own daughters and also a baby relative.
DC Henly said that of the 15,386 indecent images found on Stubbs' computer, 11,336 images and 269 video clips were at Level 1, 1,009 images and 58 video clips were at Level 2, 1,756 images and 34 video clips were at Level 3, 1,136 images and 126 video clips were at Level 4 and 286 images and 28 video clips were at Level 5. Levels 4 and 5 involve the most disturbing abuses.
Stubbs denied four charges of arranging or facilitating the commission of child sex offences.
The jury took just 30 minutes to find him guilty of all four counts.
In January this year, Stubbs pleaded guilty to 27 counts of making indecent photographs of children, one of possessing indecent photographs of children, one of possessing a video and one of distributing 1,730 images.
He told the police the conversations he had were a fantasy he was writing.
Stubbs told the jury: “The conversations I had were arousing, but that was as far as I intended it to go, talking about explicit sex acts.
“I never intended or believed they would carry it out.”
He was remanded in custody and will be sentenced in May.
