Plea hearing date set for armed siege man

The man involved in a five hour armed siege with police at a Leighton flat has been remanded in custody after appearing at Luton Crown Court today.

Marc McLees, 42, of Bridge Street, Leighton Buzzard, has been charged with one count of possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and one count of communicating false information about a bomb hoax in Bridge Street on February 5.

Mr McLees appeared in court via a video link from Bedford prison, but will return to Luton Crown Court for a plea hearing on May 7.
