Police and railway join forces to tackle bike theft in Leighton Buzzard

British Transport Police checking bike security, offering security advice, and security marking bikes for free at Leighton Buzzard station, Linslade.

Police officers are determined to get a handle on cycle theft by holding a cycle surgery at Leighton Buzzard railway station.

British Transport Police, Network Rail and London Midland are joining forces to tackle the situation in Bedfordshire.

The surgery took place on Thursday and saw officers handing out safety advice to cyclists and make sure passengers have their bikes securely marked.

They were on hand to check bike racks and lefy crime prevention advice for those owners who fail to adequately lock and secure their pedal cycles.
