The popular stall selling unwanted Christmas gifts will be at the May Day Fayre as usual, outside All Saints Church on Monday (May 5).

A huge variety of gifts has been handed into Dillamore’s furnishers in the High Street to be sold by All Saints Preservation Trust to fund the ongoing repair programme at Leighton’s ancient parish church.

“We haven’t sorted it all through yet,” said Terry Warburton the Trust’s Appeal Director, “but there will be some real bargains to buy as usual.”

Most of the items are still in their original manufacturers’ packaging and will be sold at prices below their original retail price.

Terry added: “We are very grateful for the many townsfolk who have responded again to our appeal for unwanted gifts.

“This is practical recycling and money raised will be put to good use in the repair of the last phase of the current programme, the medieval chapel on the north side.”

See today’s issue of the LBO for a preview of the May Fayre.
