Public asked to name Leighton-Linslade land

editorial image

Leighton-Linslade Town Council is inviting the public to suggest a suitable name for land that they have recently acquired as part of their big 2013 plans.

Leighton-Linslade’s ambitions, contained within the Big Plan, to provide a green corridor alongside the River Ouzel and extend the Ouzel Valley Park in a southerly direction.

The land is adjacent to the Canal and is opposite Tiddenfoot Waterside Park and The Council is making plans to create a picnic area which will be available for use from Spring 2013.

It was acquired from the Canal and River Trust, previously British Waterways, for the public to enjoy as public open space and as the land will be used by local residents and visitors to the area, the Town Council wants to invite the public to suggest a suitable name for this site.

All suggested names will be reviewed and considered and the best name will be applied to the land in time for the launch this Spring.

Let the Council know your suggestions for the naming of the open space by no later than January 31.
