Record breakers

editorial image

A school in LBO land has helped a Guinness World Record to be broken for the most number of people simultaneously singing a song.

Among the 114,277 pupils and teachers from across Britain taking part in the event, 281 were from Brookmead School in Ivinghoe. The school raised £136.06 for SignHealth, the healthcare charity for deaf people which sponsors the yearly event.

They received a DVD to help them learn and practise the ‘sign2sing’ song, which was composed especially for the event, as well a set of new resources for the classroom aimed at increasing deaf awareness.

Steve Powell, chief executive at SignHealth, commented: “We’re extremely grateful as all of the money raised will make a significant contribution to the work of the charity.”
