Robbery warning to Leigthon's teenagers
Two incidents in the last three days
Detectives are urging teenagers to be on their guard after two robberies in Leighton Buzzard in the last three days.
On each occasion youngsters have been approached by a group of youths of a similar age who have either threatened or roughed them up near to the park on Hockliffe Road and demanded valuables.
In most instances the offenders are described as white, aged about 17, wearing hooded jackets and sports clothing.
The latest offence happened at 12.50pm yesterday (Wednesday, July 21) in Hockliffe Road, where two 18-year-old boys were approached by six offenders riding bicycles.
The group demanded their mobiles and cash, after they handed them over the offenders repeatedly punched them before making off towards Meadow Way. All of the offenders wore rucksacks and one of the offenders had a foot pump hanging out of his rucksack.
On Monday (July 19), in the park near to The Planets estate, a 10 and 12-year-old were stopped by a group of youths.
The group demanded their mobile phones and forced one of the boys off of his bike. A member of the public approached the group and the group ran off.
