Southcott has a new mascot
PUPILS at Southcott Lower School will be welcoming a new arrival at their school next month when they bring their school logo, an owl, to life.
The mascot will be named by the children entering a competition at their Christmas fair on December 6. And it will represent the Bideford Green school at sporting events, fun days, fairs and presenting of prizes to the children.
Wendy Samuel, chairman of the Southcott School Association, said: "We hope the children adopt their mascot as a symbol of Southcott Lower School. We are hoping to give him as many outings as possible over the coming school year, by visually representing a school and football teams that we are all very proud of."
