Tea with the Leighton's mayor

Bring a cake along to the party

Fancy a nice cup of tea and a slice of cake with town mayor, Councillor Gordon Perham, at the Duncombe Drive day centre on August 8?

It's unlikely that Worzel Gummidge and Aunt Sally will be there, but the mayor's outgoing personality and sense of humour are sure to make the party fun.

Service starts at 4.30pm and those who accept the mayor's invitation are asked to take along a home-made cake or two to share with the other guests - for a small charge. There is a prize for the best decorated cake.

Those who wish to stay on after tea can join the picnic in the park at 6pm with music by the Fenny Stompers jazz band.

For more information, telephone the mayor's secretary, Christine Barrow, on 01525 631921.
