Television debut for Leighton cake shop

Creations from a Leighton cake shop were featured on a TV show that encouraged young people to stop sponging off others and learn skills to get employed.

Owner of Cakes by Shelly of North Street, Shelly Shulman, made her small screen debut this week, not just once, but twice, when her cake creations were shown on Channel 4’s Hotel GB featuring Gordon Ramsay, Mary Portas and Gok Wan.

Shelly said: “It was a privilege to be asked to create the cakes for the hotel and such a lovely couple.

“It’s not every day you can say you created a cake for a wedding where Gordon Ramsay was responsible for cooking the wedding breakfast.”
