Thieves steal farm machinery from Wing and Aston Abbotts

Police issue warning.

THE farming community is being urged to be on their guard after thieves made off with equipment from Aston Abbotts on Tuesday last week.

Some time between 10:30am and 2:30pm intruders broke into an insecure barn at an isolated location and stole a yellow and green John Deere tractor, along with a red straw spreader.

A yellow JCB transporter was also stolen from a farm on Cublington Road, Wing, between 4am and 6am a day later. The thieves drove the vehicle across fields towards Cublington Road, where tracks indicated that the vehicle went in the Wing direction.

A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said: "Please remain vigilant with your own security and ensure any suspicious activity around farming / rural locations is reported immediately to the Police on 0845 8 505 505 or 999 if a crime is in progress.

"Where possible obtain a description of any persons along with the make, model, colour and the registration number of any vehicle.

"Police would also like to hear from anyone that might have witnessed anything in relation to these crimes.

"If you have any information, or you saw the tractor or JCB call on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
