A cutting-edge hairdresser is one of seven people in the UK to have won a place in a coveted industry team.
Trevor Holden, owner of Texture Road hairdressers in Linslade, is now part of a fearless force of hairstylists in the Sebastian Professional CULT Team.
After being whittled down from 800 candidates, Trevor had the tough task of demonstrating his skills in front of a panel of industry experts.
He had to present a mood board of his model’s final look and handle questions about their model and inspirations as well as what they could bring to the new team.
The former Cedars Upper School student will now embark on a two-year journey that will see him style at highly acclaimed events, including London Fashion Week.
Trevor said: “When I started it was my ambition to win but every time I got through to the next stage I was questioning it, asking if they had said the right person!
“It is exciting to see where this will take me now.
“This was always something I wanted to do to take it as far as I could and this was the time and my opportunity to do that.
“My family are really proud of me and my friends are happy, but when I told them the first thing they asked was, ‘you’re still going to do my hair, right?’.”
Trevor bought Texture Road three years, and now at just 28 years old is running his very own salon with nine stylists. “My goal was always to have my own salon but I didn’t expect to have done it at my age,” he said.
“I am very passionate about what I do and I think there needs to be a want for it; you have to be driven. It has given the other stylists in my salon a big boost.”
