TV railway documentary to be aired tomorrow

A TELEVISION documentary featuring the Leighton Buzzard Railway is being shown tomorrow night.

The final episode of John Sergeant on the Tourist Trail is being shown on ITV3 at 9pm.

The programmes were made originally in 2009, the theme being the weird and wonderful reasons people have for visiting the UK as foreign tourists. The production schedule coincided with one of the railway’s special events celebrating the 90th anniversary of its opening in 1919. French and German locomotives from the Great War era were visiting, along with enthusiasts from many nations.

Railway spokesman, Mervyn Leah, said: “We had a delightful day with one of the country’s leading broadcasters, and were flattered to be featured alongside iconic locations such as John Lennon’s childhood home. With the Bank Holiday weekend coming up, this exposure on prime-time national television could not have come at a better time.”
