Volunteers needed for Poppy Appeal
The Poppy Appeal Organisers for Leighton are sending out a plea for more volunteers to join their team of collectors during this year’s Poppy Appeal.
The 2012 Poppy Appeal this November is all about helping the Afghan generation of the Armed forces and their families.
Liz Steele community fundraiser, Bedfordshire for the Royal British Legion said: “I really do hope that people living in Leighton Buzzard will help this year’s Poppy Appeal.
“Even if someone is only able to donate one hour of their time it really is appreciated and will help to make a difference.
“Every year the general public want to remember those who gave their lives for their country and help provide services for those who have served in the armed forces.
“It is therefore crucial to have enough collectors in place to ensure that the public can get their poppies in time for Remembrance Sunday. As well as ensuring that we continue to raise the funds needed to support our armed forces family.”
If you are able to help collect and join the Poppy Team please contact Liz on 07917553302 or email lsteele@britishlegion.org.uk
