Overnight work to improve the A5 continues this month with work taking place near Leighton.
The work will include resurfacing and renewal of white lines on the A5/A505 Leighton Buzzard roundabout.
It will begin at 8pm on Wednesday, September 18 and is due to be complete by 6am on Saturday, September 21. Overnight closures will be required while work is carried out.
Andy Shilliday, Highways Agency project sponsor, said: “We know how important the A5 is to road users in Bedfordshire and this work will improve the carriageway and road markings on the A5 Leighton Buzzard roundabout.
“Work has been planned to take place overnight between 8pm and 6am on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights. This helps to keep disruption to a minimum as traffic flows are lower during these times.
“This summer has seen several schemes taking place to improve the A5 in Bedfordshire and we would like to thank residents and road users for their continued patience.”
The A5 will be closed between French’s Avenue and Thorn Road while work takes place. Road users will follow a clearly signed diversion via the A5120 and Thorn Road. Temporary traffic lights will be in place on the roundabout to control traffic flows from the A505 onto the A5.
