Would-be Olympians offered marathon task

FITNESS fanatics in LBO-land are being offered the chance to emulate their Olympic heroes with a month of sporting challenges designed to emulate the length of the London Marathon through a range of activities.

The London Marathon totals a length of 26 miles and 385 yards and users of Tiddenfoot Leisure Centre are going head-to-head to compete to reach the top of the leader board.

There are a myriad of ways to complete the challenging 26 miles, whether it is running, cycling, rowing or using the cross trainer; which can be completed how and when the user likes, such as a 15-minute power burst or a more leisurely hour-long session. Non-members are welcome to join in with the activities too but are advised to visit the reception before using the facilities.

Jeanette Gregory, Business Manager at Tiddenfoot Leisure Centre said: “We’re really excited to be hosting the London Marathon competition throughout this month.

“The event will see members and non-members working out vigorously for the winner’s title, inspiring others to get fit.”
