Long service award for Leighton firefighter

A Leighton firefighter was among a number of officers honoured at Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service’s special awards evening to honour the commitment, professionalism and bravery of its staff, and the public.

Councillor Colleen Atkins, chairman of the Fire and Rescue Authority, presented a 25 year long service award to Watch Commander Jason Hollamby from theLake Street station at the ceremony, which took place at Bedford School,

Chief Fire Officer Paul Fuller said: “Events such as this serve as a great opportunity to justifiably celebrate the successes of our staff.

“It is great to be able to honour their personal achievement, fundraising activities, or long and distinguished service to the local community. It also gives us a chance to thank their families, whose own contribution is invaluable.”
