Make tracks to Leighton's Narrow Gauge Rail crafts shop on Mother's Day

New season starts with treat for mums - and a knitting challenge!

LEIGHTON'S Narrow Gauge Railway opens this Sunday for the season with a treat for mothers. The line's unique craft shop at the track's Stonehenge Works is the perfect final destination to buy a last minute present.

A group of 16 crafters are displaying their wares for those looking for an unusual gift and there's an opportunity to meet the experts over a cuppa.

During 2010 the shop's regulars are hoping to knit the length of the railway line - six miles !!!

Co-owner, Maggie Evans, said : "We are hoping that any visitors who want will knit a couple of rows while they are in the shop. This will be done in 2 metre lengths which eventually will be joined together to make blankets for charity."

On August 1 there will be a craft demonstration day. More details soon.
