Man struck by train identified as 45-year-old from Linslade

A man who was killed on a railway line at Leighton Buzzard station has been identified as 45-year-old Ashley Goodchild.

Mr Goodchild, of Cedars Way, Linslade, was pronouced dead at the scene after he was struck by a train at 6.40am on July 29.

British Transport Police are not treating the incident as suspicious and have handed a file over to the coroner.

An inquest into Mr Goodchild’s death was opened yesterday.

It has now been adjourned to a later date.
