The Friday Club were treated to an Old Time Music Hall performed by about 20 of their own members.

The Master of Ceremonies was resplendent in formal dress and told funny stories in the intervals between acts. The chorus sang a number of well known songs and there were comedy acts, including The Supremos, drag artistes who danced and mimed to the song “Baby Love” by the Supremes.

Flanaghan and Allen came to life again with a rendition of Underneath The Arches.

Spokesman Alan White said: “The audience were enraptured and frequently convulsed with laughter. It was a superb show and the cast deserved our congratulations.”
