An TV advert for Santander featuring Olympic golden girl Jessica Ennis-Hill was filmed at Ivinghoe Beacon, the bank has revealed.
The footage was actually shot back on January 16 this year to promote Santander’s 123 current account and shows Ennis-Hill on a typical day of training – in this case running in an outdoor remote space.
A spokesman said: “The location brief for this particular shoot was somewhere that provided an open space with vast views of the sweeping countryside to visualise the idea of an athlete being disciplined and determined.
“At the time of shooting, a lot of parks and open spaces we had visited were boggy due to the bad weather, so we needed somewhere that provided some hard ground for Jessica to run on and was accessible for all of our filming kit and team.
“Ivinghoe Beacon met all of these needs and of course provided a beautiful and memorable open space with vast views of the surrounding countryside.
“We based ourselves at a farm nearby, which served as our base for the day of filming.”
