It’s the time of the year when thoughts turn to making Leighton-Linslade Carnival a right royal occasion.

The carnival committee is looking a queen and two princesses and the selection dance is being held on Thursday, March 12 at the Royal British Legion Club, West Street, Leighton Buzzard (from 7pm until 9pm).

Selection is open to school Years 5-11 and the entrants must either be at a Leighton-Linslade school or have a parental/guardian address within Leighton-Linslade.

The carnival queen will be chosen from Year 9-11 entrants and two princesses from Years 5-8.

The winners will be on the royalty float on carnival day (July 11) and will receive dresses and accessories, necklaces, flowers, portrait photo package and other prizes – worth over £200!

Simply fill out the form printed in the LBO ahead of the event and take it along on the night. You don’t need to enter the princess selection to come along to the event – and boys can come too!

There is no fee to enter the contest, just the £3 charge for the disco. More details at www.leightoncarnival.co.uk.
