Countryfile Live at palace

Countryfile is one of the most popular programmes on television and tomorrow (Thursday) the very first Countryfile Live opens at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire.

The four day event (August 4-7) will see the show’s presenters Matt Baker, Adam Henson, Ellie Harrison, John Craven, Tom Heap and Anita Rani spill the beans on what goes on behind the scenes, as they each take part in sessions in The Big Barn on the showground.

The event is spread across a huge area of the grounds surrounding the palace and includes a dog arena (pets on leads are allowed), an equine village,food market, art and photography area and a huge display of farm machinery old and new alongside vintage tools.

In the Village Green area there will be a vintage funfair with Victorian carousel, maypole dancing, Morris dancing and country dancing, a bandstand, Punch and Judy and visitors will even have the chance to roll a Stilton cheese.

Entry is not cheap, gate prices per day are £79.50 for a family of four, plus £5 for the car park and a further cost for the showguide, but you can take your own home made picnic.
