Perry smells a rat in panto at Milton Keynes Theatre
Hollywood actor swaps Beverly Hills for the Milton Keynes theatre district this Christmas.
THE stars of this year's Milton Keynes Theatre panto, Dick Whittington, have finally been revealed as Hollywood actor Luke Perry, who is best known as Dylan in Beverly Hills 90210 from the 1990s, Gavin and Stacey's Joanna Page and Britain's Got Talent finalists Stavros Flatley.
Perry will be playing the show's bad guy, the dastardly King Rat.
He said: "This will be my first pantomime and I feel privileged to be taking part in something that is such a great British institution.
"My children are going to love seeing me being booed off the stage!
"I've loved my live theatre experiences on Broadway and in the West End, and am thrilled to be taking to the stage again at one of the UK's most successful regional theatres".
He will be joined by the 'lush' Joanna Page playing Dick's beautiful love interest Alice Fitzwarren.
Most-loved for her portrayal as Stacey Shipman in the BAFTA award-winning BBC comedy Gavin and Stacey, Joanna is no stranger to pantomime having starred as Cinderella for the last two years.
"I love panto. It's just so much fun, " she said this week.
"It's brilliant to see every generation of a family come along and have a really great time together.
"I'm really at home on the stage and love all of the singing, dancing and audience interaction that comes with panto.
"I'm so excited to be sharing the stage with a Hollywood heart throb, even though he is supposed to be the baddy!"
And if that wasn't enough, Britain's Got Talent fans can also look forward to a special guest appearance from the show's favourites Stavros Flatley who are sure to bring the house down.
Theatre chief executive, Elizabeth Adlington, said: "This brand new production of Dick Whittington promises to be the very best panto experience for you and all of your family.
"As one of the most traditional fairy tales Dick Whittington is guaranteed to provide all the panto magic and fun your family has come to expect at Milton Keynes Theatre".
Dick runs from December 10 until January 16.
