The May 5 poll - on the same day as the Police and Crime Commissioner election – follows the resignation of Conservative councillor Richard Dennison in March who stepped down due to relocation because of a new job.

Those standing are Paul Adams (Labour), Carol Chambers (Conservative), Russ Goodchild (Lib Dem) and Garry Lelliott (UKIP).

Polling stations will be at Astral Park, Leighton Buzzard Narrow Gauge Railway and Clipstone Brook Lower School (7am to 10pm). No town council polling cards are being issued so residents should be aware that they do not need such a card in order to vote.

The town council currently comprises of 19 Conservative councillors and one Independent, plus the Grovebury vacancy.
