A Gilbert Inglefield Academy Year 7 English class visited the Mounted Police Section at Milton Keynes.

The students had the opportunity to meet the horses and learn how horses are used in today’s police force.

They were also able to explore one of the police horse lorries and took part in a crowd control exercise.

Miss Travell, trip organiser, said “The students are currently studying Michael Morpurgo’s book War Horse and this visit gave them the opportunity to contrast the role of the horse in modern conflict with its role in the First World War.”
