Hundreds of motorcycles, old and new, from near and far, crammed into Page’s Park for Leighton Buzzard Railway’s Sand & Motorcycle Show on Sunday, September 28.

It was a roaring success with in excess of 450 motorcycles, ranging from a 1914 BSA to a three-week-old 2014 Royal Enfield.

The “sand” part was covered by the three museum-piece diesel locomotives (pictured), which hauled a passenger train to Stonehenge Works.

All used to work sand trains over the same tracks, and are still painted in the distinctive green and white colours of the quarry railways.

A spokesman said: “The sun shone and people and bikes just poured in to the free event. “

The raffle was sponsored by Tesco in Linslade and the prizes by Kaapstadt Motorcycle Tours.
