Specialist search officers have been forced to temporarily suspend the hunt for a missing man from Linslade after water levels rose dangerously high.

Searches have been carried out in the River Ouzel’s Clipstone Brook for the past week, while Beds Police officers continue house-to-house enquiries, check phone records and study CCTV for information relating to Neil Devlin, of Town Bridge Mill, Leighton Road.

The 37-year-old car park assistant at Leighton’s Morrisons was last seen on New Year’s Day wearing a dark anorak style jacket with a hood, a dark top and jeans.

A Beds Police spokesman said: “The search and enquiries regarding Neil Devlin are continuing but some of the water levels have prevented the search team for carrying out further work.

“We’d urge anyone with information - no matter how small - to contact Bedfordshire Police on the 101 number.”
