Students are celebrating achieving top grades at their Leighton Buzzard school as GCSE results are revealed.
Headteacher of Vandyke Upper School, Tim Carroll, said: “I am delighted with students’ results and proud of their achievements again this year.
“Undoubtedly the bar has been raised this year with even more demanded of students to achieve the highest grades.
“So it is even more impressive that so many have met the challenge and come out with grades to celebrate.
“GCSE grades are important because they allow students to go on to the Sixth Form or to apprenticeships or college. That is why we feel so pleased that results are so good again this year.
“For the school overall, results are our best ever with five or more A* to C including English and maths is at 60% as last year.
“I am especially pleased that a remarkable 99.5% achieved five or more GCSE passes.
“Results in maths, science, French and media studies stand out. Speaking myself as a maths teacher who struggles to speak some German I am thrilled that over a
third of our students have achieved top grades in a foreign language; Prima, sehr gut gemacht! Felicitations!
“I wish to pay tribute to the work of staff and support of parents in helping students to gain these grades.
“We wish all of our students well with their next step.”
