Leighton writer Tony Drury is supporting HEART UK’s National Cholesterol Week this week with a book signing at the L & D and at Leighton Buzzard Rail
Tony, who is an ambassador for HEART UK, kick starts the campaign with a hospital visit on Monday with a percentage of any book sales tot he charity and the cardiac centre at the hospital.
Tony will be at the rail station on Thursday during the busy early morning rush hour when commuters will be able to support charity by buying one of his books.
Tony said: “I want to support HEART UK’s National Cholesterol Week by raising significant sums of money. All the money raised from the sales of ‘Hannah’s Choice’ goes to the charity.”
National Cholesterol Week aims to raise awareness of Britain’s biggest silent killer, heart disease, with cholesterol affecting six in 10 adults across the UK.
HEART UK Chief Executive Jules Payne said: “HEART UK’s National Cholesterol Week gives us the opportunity to do even more to help the thousands of people across the UK with raised cholesterol and associated heart conditions.”
