Leighton Buzzard Library is hosting a free workshop for anyone interested in tracing their First World War Army ancestors.
The session will take place on Wednesday, November 5, between 11am and 12.30pm and will allow family history enthusiasts the chance to use the internet to trace ancestors who served in the Great War.
Central Beds Councillor Ian Dalgarno said: “This year marks the centenary of the start of the First World War, which saw thousands of people of all ages and backgrounds from across Central Bedfordshire uniting to take part in the war effort.
“More than 1,500 young men from across the area were killed in the conflict, with many others injured.
“It may be 100 years since the start of the war, but it’s important that we don’t forget their heroism and selfless behaviour, and these workshops will help to do just that.”
The free workshops are suitable for anyone who is comfortable using a computer, and library staff will be on hand to help them in their search.
