VIDEO: Festival a splash hit with fun-seekers
Linslade event draws the crowds
Fun-seekers who flocked to Tiddenfoot Waterside Park on Saturday looking for a good time at the Linslade Canal Festival weren't disappointed.
The gates opened at 11am and motorists were still queuing along Mentmore Road for a space in the car park at 3pm.
The annual festival is organised by Leighton-Linslade Town Council and since its early beginnings has attracted large crowds, but this year was even bigger and better than ever.
Town council events officer Gill Miller said: "We had over 100 exhibits in the park with more than 30 narrowboats moored on the canal and a record number of visitors.
"The park seems to create just the perfect atmosphere for the festival and we seem to have found the right mix of crafts, entertainment and exhibits to appeal to everyone.
"It's a free event and the town council would like to thank everyone who came along and made the day a huge success."
Don't forget to see the August 3 issue of the Leighton Buzzard Observer for a picture special from the event.
