Waterside Theatre announces opening date
Coundown begins to first night at new Aylesbury Vale venue.
THE new Waterside Theatre which is set to attract audiences from throughout the Aylesbury Vale will open on October 12.
The Aylesbury venue is being run by Ambassadors Theatre Group, which currently operates Milton Keynes Theatre, on behalf of Aylesbury Vale District Council.
At a press conference to announce the date Councillor John Cartwright said "This is very memorable day for AVDC.
"We know that the new theatre is not just going to be a great venue for entertainment.
"From the outset, we committed ourselves to building the very best theatre we could which meant also having the best management company on board. The theatre is going to be a fantastic success."
Elizabeth Adlington, chief executive of MKT and AWT, said: "Today marks the first milestone in the history of a venue which we are thrilled to be a part of.
"Announcing an opening date is just the beginning. We are working hard to bring an exciting, inclusive programme of shows to you for the first season which we are looking forward to announcing in the spring."
