Cheddington Women’s Institute held a successful coffee morning at the home of member, Jane Cutler, on Tuesday, October 7, to raise funds for Scannappeal. www.scannappeal.org.uk
Scannappeal raises funds to purchase life-saving equipment for Amersham, Stoke Mandeville, Wycombe and Community Hospitals which serve people living in Bucks and neighbouring parts of Berks, Beds, Herts and Oxfordshire. Every 10 minutes a patient in this area is diagnosed or treated with equipment funded by Scannappeal in the past.
Members were delighted to welcome Roy Collis , Deputy Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire and chairman of the Friends of Stoke Mandeville Hospital who is pictured with the president of Cheddington Women’s Institute, Irene Johnson.
Around 50 people attended and £386 was raised.
A spokesman said: “We were delighted by the support given by Cheddington WI members, and residents, Tilsworth Golf Club members, Great Brickhill WI members, and local businesses. Raffle prizes were donated by Mentmore Golf and Country Club; the Haldi Indian Restaurant, Pitstone; The Clinic and Totality Beauty Treatments; Tring, Style Beauty, Wing; Mead’s Farm Shop, Wilstone; the Top Shop, and the Three Horseshoes Cheddington.”
